wool&care
Soft and breathable, wool is a natural, renewable, and biodegradable material — a thoughtful choice for both you and the planet.Wool is a long-lasting material that you will be able to wear for years forward if you follow the care instructions:
Washing:
- Wash your wool knits only when necessary, as wool has self-cleaning, and temperature-regulating properties, is breathable and doesn't absorb odors.
- Let the knitwear air between uses.
- When washing is required, use a delicate wool detergent. Hand wash in cold water and gently squeeze to clean. Avoid prolonged exposure to water, and never rub or wring.
- If machine washing, always use a delicate, short wool program with water no warmer than 30 °C, preferably one marked with the Woolmark symbol.
- Lay your washed wool knits on a flat surface and arrange them into shape. Let them dry flat. By drying them flat you ensure that the piece keeps it’s shape.
- Never tumble dry, as it may shrink the wool.
Ironing and steaming:
- Iron your wool knits by setting the iron to the wool setting or medium heat, place a pressing cloth over the garment, and iron with steam or a light mist of water.
- Avoid using heavy pressure.
- Let the item cool flat for a few minutes before folding.
- It is natural for wool to pill, especially when the pieces are new or in heavy use. Pilling is most often seen in areas exposed to friction. You can easily remove the pilling with a special lint remover machine.
- We don't recommend using any kind of wool brushes to remove pilling.
- After washing a wool piece a few times the pilling tends to decrease.
Storage:
- Store your wool piece by folding it flat on a shelf or in a drawer.
- Avoid hanging on hangers as it it might stretch the garment causing it loosing its shape.
- Also keep in mind to not store your knits too tightly as it may cause wrinkles on them.
